Core Competencies

John Deere was a big fan of buzz words.  They loved justifying or dismissing projects based on the defined ``Core Competencies`` of the factory.  There were always exceptions.  John Deere loved exceptions almost as much as buzz words.  At the factory I worked at,  these Core Competencies were always welding and assembly.  I may be forgetting some but those two stick in my mind as being repeated quite a bit.

I often find myself trying to apply the corporate mindset to where I currently work.  I`d have to say that our Core Competency here is shrugging.  Vacant stares are up there too.  Yah, I`d have to go with vacant stares and shrugging as our Core Competencies.
