Introducing: Peanut

Yes, we are officially expecting.  We had our first ultrasound yesterday.  The appointment was booked a couple of weeks early so there's not as much detail as you would usually see on the first ultrasound.  But we saw his/her little heart beating away and, before I was allowed into the room, he/she was apparently dancing up a storm.

The first trimester has been pretty rough on Jen.  For the first couple weeks after Jen peed on the stick she was getting pretty cocky.  "I haven't got sick at ALL.  I'm super duper!".  And then came the puking.

Things seemed to have evened out now and we're super excited to see what pops out.  If you look closely at the picture, it would appear he or she will look a lot like Elvis.

So we've got 6 more months to transform the House of Geek to a suitable baby environment.  And for you mathletes out there, I did propose BEFORE the stick peeing.  No shotguns at next week's wedding.

  1. Over the top excited! Congrats to you and Jen. Enjoy these pregnant days, they're wonderful - despite the nausea.

On a somewhat related note, are you seriously putting the names up to a vote? Cross Aidan of the list unless you want 10 other kids in his class to raise their hands when his name is called. And Bryson? You do know that rhymes with Tyson, right? Want me to diss the rest of the names too? It's so easy. The main reason I waited until after the birth to tell people the name is that then it's too late (and uncouth) for them to tell me what they think about it. Although that didn't really stop Mark's mom...

Really, couldn't be happier for you two. Cheers!

    1. Hey! We like those names! The vote isn't binding. I was just curious what people would think of them. We reserve the right to ignore the results and modify the list as we see fit. Since you didn't vote, I'll just make a note of your comments.

  5. Hey congrats to you and Jen! Awesome! Kids are by far the best thing that can happen to someone's life (I can still say that...for the time being at least!). You get to play with toys, and it's perfectly acceptable!!!

On the other hand, finding out you're expecting brings another great milestone of life: the fact that right this moment, you'll never be as rich as you are right now, moving forward. Slante! ;-)

  6. Hey, I can vote again and again. But I won't. I won't skew your project.
